For the last several weeks I've featured details of a remodeled kitchen we completed for a family in Arnold, Maryland. If you haven't been following, the orginial kitchen was in the center of the home and didn't offer easy access to either the adjacent family room, nor the pool and patio.

The owners goals for their remodeled kitchen:

  • A larger, open space for entertaining.
  • Room for more than one cook
  • Plentiful counter area for preparing and serving food.
  • Easy traffic flow from all directions, including better access to their beautiful outdoor pool and patio, overlooking Round Bay.
  • An open view to the family room and living rooms.
  • A design to accommodate their casual entertaining style.

This weeks photos focus on the cabinetry and granite countertop.

The cabinetry is from American Cedar and features a Shaker flush, inset door. The shelving in the cabinets below are 3/8" thick tempered glass.

    Project: Bathroom remodel

    FryHallBath

On a 45 year old home, it was time for another remodel, this time the hall bath… After hearing great things about Villa Builders from friends, we contacted Jeff Hall, the owner of Villa Builders.  We couldn’t be more pleased with the remodel we got with Villa Builders.  Jeff and his sub-contractors are very professional and Jeff’s attention to detail makes it all work seamlessly.  To start the process, Jeff quizzed us about our likes, wants, and desires for our bath.  He laid out a timeline and a budget which he stuck to.  With weekly progress meetings, Jeff constantly checked on the job.  Our project was developed with the help of his designer, Nicole.  Jeff or Nicole joined me at each of the vendors to help us make the best selections for both esthetics while staying within our budget.

Living in a construction zone is not easy, especially with a dog, but Jeff made it as easy as he could.  He made sure tradesmen showed up when they were supposed to.  And each day, our house was staged for work and the areas where the subs worked were cleaned of all construction materials and dust before they left.

Jeff’s attention to detail on our bathroom remodel is comparable to what we experienced when we built a custom home.  Even after the project was completed, Jeff wants to keep his customers happy with the product he delivers. He has checked on how we are enjoying the new bath and whether we’ve had any problems.  It’s all great, Jeff.  We love it.  Thank you!!!
