Interior Remodeling

On the Inside

Entryway TransformedRemodeling projects are not just about kitchens and baths. Perhaps you would like to give new purpose to an existing room, such as converting a bedroom into a den, home office or personal library.

Maybe you are longing for a built-in window seat with storage capacity, a custom bookcase to store your treasured books, or a special niche for a prized family heirloom.

We offer design and masterful carpentry skills to help transform any space, and add the custom details that will help make your home one of kind.

A New Function

In addition to this home’s exterior renovation, it also underwent an extensive remodel on the inside. The original floor plan in this ranch style home featured only a living room. The owners wanted their living room to be a more formal place to greet and entertain guests. Yet, they also wanted a space that was relaxed, and would accommodate casual, comfortable furniture and their media center.

Bedroom Converted to A DenOne of the home's four bedrooms, adjacent to the living room was converted to a new den. To accomplish this, an interior closet and the ‘coat closet’ (accessible from living room) were removed. An opening was created between living room and the new den space, complete with 5-paneled pocket doors—this allows the room to be closed off from the living room and also provides privacy for an overnight quest. The room was finished with bungalow styled trim, re-painted and new carpeting installed. A panel of three windows was custom built and installed in the shared wall of the den and the interior hallway. These windows allow light to pour into the hall and are also an attractive addition to the den.

Testimonials

  • Bill and Mary Lou Bleakley, Arnold, Maryland

First project: Addition of 400 + addition, sunroom, sitting room, and full bathroom to a ramble style home.

    Second project: Update kitchen.

    Third project: Rework roof system

    Fourth project: Bathroom update

My wife and I first engaged Villa Builders in 1999 and have used them ever since for any and all remodeling projects since then.

In 1999/2000 we put on a 400+ square foot addition to our home which included a sun room, a sitting room, and a full bath. Since then we have modernized two bathrooms and did a major rework of  poorly designed mid 1960's roof system.

When we did the first project we hired an architect, who recommended Villa Builders.  The best advice we got from the architect was, "The success of any project depends on a three party cooperative, the architect, the builder, and the home owner, who all work as a team to see the successful completion of the project."

Villa Builders understands the meaning of teamwork.

We have been completely satisfied and we highly recommend them and the subcontractors that they employ.
